As for draining them of the juice, to be honest I'm not sure. I've only made the pie a couple of times, and I used fresh. I do remember watching my dad make the pie with frozen strawberries, and I can't remember seeing him draining the liquid off the strawberries...but I can't say for certain, so that's something I'll have to find out about.Jerri at Simply Sweet Homehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15424115166869530008noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6860878532430108389.post-89768212811122848542008-07-20T22:35:00.000-05:002008-07-20T22:35:00.000-05:00This is pretty much the way I always make mine, to...This is pretty much the way I always make mine, too ~ although I'm with you and generally use a standard pie crust as opposed to a graham crust. It's so simple and SO-O-O-O tasty!!! I use the same recipe for peach/nectarine pie (using peach gelatin, obviously!)

How do you do this one with frozen berries? Do you wait until they're thawed and then use the liquid in place of the water that you'd add to the sugar and cornstarch? I've often wondered this, but been a little too afraid of ruining it if I experiment.tammihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03803890115567631062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6860878532430108389.post-30321339425719394522008-07-20T08:21:00.000-05:002008-07-20T08:21:00.000-05:00I had an aunt who used to make this & I never ...I had an aunt who used to make this & I never got the recipe, thanks so much for posting this :-)Vamphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03438980977606761358noreply@blogger.com
