Waffles with Syrup and Peanut Butter

My husband's birthday is on Monday.  We'll be going out to eat for dinner, but for breakfast I'll be making one of his favorites.  One thing that he absolutely loves is waffles (or pancakes), specifically with peanut butter on top!

Before we go any further, I must ask a question or two. Has anyone ever heard of this?  Has anyone ever had this?  Is anyone out there a "Waffles/Pancakes with Peanut Butter" fan?  If you are, you have to leave a comment because my husband will totally get a kick out of it! Truly!

He absolutely loves this stuff, and he loves to recommend it to people!  And he loves it even more when he finds someone who likes it or when  he can get someone to try it out, and they like it.

No actual recipe goes with this.  Just make your waffles or pancakes, and spread (or glob) a little peanut butter on each one.  Then top with syrup. Very easy!  And besides the great taste, the other great thing about this is that it gives you some extra protein to start out your day, and I'd say it's probably a lot healthier than using that old butter I'm always having.

And since I'm not sharing a recipe, instead I've got a quick story about the peanut butter.  My husband likes this stuff so much that he will actually carry a small jar of peanut butter into the Cracker Barrel  or IHOP for breakfast! And he is very proud of it!

In fact, we'd only been dating a few months when he asked me to smuggle a jar of peanut butter in to the Cracker Barrel.   And just to show how in love (or how crazy) I was, I did it! And I'm here to tell you now that I would not do something like that even that for myself!  I would be way too embarrassed!

And believe me, you do get some strange looks from the waiter and people at the tables around you when you pull a peanut jar out of your purse!  One waiter even gave a shocked and puzzled look when he walked by and saw some strange substance on hubby's pancakes.  He was relieved to find it was just peanut butter!

So this should stand as a testimony of how loving and dedicated I am!  Or maybe it's just a testimony about how much my husband loves peanut butter on his waffles and pancakes!

My husband globs peanut butter on waffles and pancakes. I happen to think it's nasty but he won over our 3rd old. Of course, he grew up eating biscuits with chocolate gravy too, so he's just all messed up. :)

Waffles or Pancakes with PB and Syrup is the only way my family ever ate them growing up! So delicious. Your hubs isn't crazy, that is the best way to have them, hehehe =)

Happy Homemaker - Just so you know, I grew up eating biscuits with chocolate gravy. And I'm not messed up! lol. Just kidding. (Well, maybe I am just a little messed up, but I don't think the chocolate gravy is a contributing factor.) Anyway, thanks for the comment. My hubs will be happy to see it!

Just One More Thing - Love your idea! Sounds delicious!

I grew up eating Peanut Butter and Syrup on my pancakes and waffles. My kids also like peanut butter on their pancakes and waffles. My husband thought it was strange, but is use to it now although he doesn't put peanut butter on his pancakes and waffles.
Happy Birthday to your husband, my birthday is Tuesday.

My husband likes peanut butter on his waffles, too! Sometimes he even puts it on his hamburger. Thank goodness he's a Marine because that's a lot of calories!

My whole family loves this. It is the only way to eat pancakes and waffles. We also take a baby food jar full of peanut butter to IHOP. Us peanut butter and waffles people have to stick together.

My stepfather introduced us to pancakes with peanut butter and BLUEBERRY syrup (Knott's Berry Farm brand I believe) when we were very young. I LOVED them as a kid!!! I've tried to tell other people how great they are, but I get the scaredest looks when I tell them!!

When I was little I went over to spend the night at a friends house and they introduced me to peanut butter on pancakes! I haven't had them plain since. I too have brought my own peanut butter to places that serve pancakes. It is delicious!

Hi! I found your blog from Amy's finer things. My husband introduced me to pb on waffles when we were dating. I thought it was weird at first, but now even our children ask for it on their waffles. One of my daughters likes a "waffle pizza". That involves pb, very little syrup and blueberries placed strategically all over the slices.

Such awesome news. I grew up eating PB on pancakes and waffles with tons of syrup. I'm a die-hard as well and have been know to sneak a jar of PB into IHOP or Denny's (since they don't serve it). I had no idea that anyone else knew about Chocolate Gravy and biscuts either. I thought it was something my Grandmother dreamed up.

Peanut butter on waffles or pancakes is AWESOME!!! It's even better if you still add a little butter and having the syrup piping hot so it melts the butter on contact. Mmmmm. I gotta go get me some waffles now.

Something funny is that I am eating waffles with Pb right now. I did a google search to see if anyone else did this and lo and behold, they do! This makes me so happy. I too always recommend this combo. Although I don't like Pb on anything else

I just got done eating some Eggo buttermilk waffles with peanut butter as I was reading this. I googled it because I was curious as to how many other people like it too. I can't even eat waffles without peanut butter and pancakes almost as much. I also usually drink a tall glass of strong chocolate milk with it. It's a wonder I'm not diabetic. They would just seem naked without it.

I was thinking the other day how good these are. The first time I tried these was in 2011. I had never heard of it before. But I was on a business trip in Bangkok, Thailand, and a colleague recommended that I try this. He said his mother used to make them for him. So I did... Wooooowwwww!!!!!! It was sooooo good. It's now one of my favorites. They're so good that I think about them on occasion. And this is what prompted me to look up on the internet if there was any information on them. And here are a few more people that have also found the light. Anyway, definite thumbs up on the waffle, peanut butter, syrup, butter pancakes!!
