Christmas Crafts

And now for some Christmas crafts from around the net. It's so great seeing all the lovely things that people make. I found a lot of great ideas to share with you. Here are just a few. Below each photo you'll find a link to the source. Hope you like these.

Next post, I'll be sharing some Christmas balls that I've found.

I just love these ornaments. I have a kit to make some ornaments that are kind of similar to these. I got it from Oriental Trading. But I think these are a lot cuter. I found them on Etsy. You can purchase these from SnowFish. She has a lot of other great items that you might be interested in as well.

Here's a cute gift idea, or perhaps a lovely centerpiece for you table. These Candy Trees came from HDMac's Crafty Blog and More. Aren't they lovely? Check out her blog for this and other great ideas.

Here's something I haven't seen in a while, Doily Angels. You can learn to make a lovely angel like this one at Makestuff.com

My mom used to have a tree like this, made from garland, lights, and coat hangers. All Free Crafts has the full instructions for this craft and others.

I found these "Potted Paper Cone" Christmas trees at Familyfun.com. This is really cute & simple. If you're looking for something to make the kids, check it out.

The tinsel Christmas tree reminds me of one I made years ago--a styrofoam cone, wrapped base to tip with a tinsel garland, held in place with old-fashioned hairpins! It didn't have lights, but we bought some little tiny Christmas balls for it.

Sounds tacky, doesn't it? LOL! We kids thought it was beeuutiful!

Those little felted ornaments are very cute. I think a person could make them without any kits if you just cut out the stars and trees from felt. Plus I have lots of buttons in my stash that might work.

Charlene - Sometimes tacky can be good! If you're kids liked it, I'm sure I would too. I'm a big kid at heart myself. While some might call it tacky, I'd call it fun. I read a post where someone wrote about how tacky colored lights were, and that's all I ever use. It reminds me of my childhood, and it's fun!

Maria & The Happy Housewife - I'm glad you liked these. I tried to collect some ideas that I thought people would enjoy.

RecycleCindy- You're right! They could be made without the kits. I just got a kit because I'm not very crafty myself. Even if I traced the simplest little shape onto the felt before cutting it, I'd find some way to mess it up. Scissors hate me!

What fun sort of retro crafts! I posted a couple of pages from an old craft magazine from 1960 and a children's book from the 1950s at my blog. I'd be interested to hear people's comments about the tissue rose tree. I think it would be a nice challenge for someone.

Those first ornaments are adorable! My 6yo would love making them, and they don't look like they'd take a lot of time. Thanks!
