I found that Tracfone seems to offer the cheapest family plan - $27.96/month for our family of 4.
I get 50 minutes/month for $9.99 and the rest of the family get 40 minutes/month for $5.99. This is enough minutes for just checking up on the family during the day, calling them for supper when they're playing with the neighbors kids, etc.

I was looking through the TracFone site and I was thinking of getting one for myself. I saw that they have a few smartphone options but I'm not sure how this whole prepaid system works. Can someone explain it to me how this whole reception thing works for TracFone and Jean 5643 do you have one and do you like it?
