Sponsor Spotlight - Julian & Co

I'm happy once again to announce Julian & Co as a sponsor on my blog.  This is a wonderful shop with a very unique line of  heirloom quality jewelry for moms, dads, and children.

These lovely pieces can be personalized with your child's name, birthdate and time, weight, and length.  And you can even add birthstone charms!

The owner of this company is a mom named Tania, and the company is named for her son Julian who was born 11 weeks early and weighed only 3lbs 4oz.  When Tania's husband purchased a personalized baby bracelet for Julian, and it was too big for his tiny wrist, Tania set out to design her own sterling silver id bracelet for Julian.  This was the first of many pieces in the Julian & Co line!

The  Signature line of Julian & Co  is the baby hand and feet jewelry.  So overjoyed to have Julian home, Tania handcrafted sterling silver disc pendants adorned with Julian’s own hand and feet prints, as well as his name and birth date, for her and her husband to wear. As soon as her family and friends saw Tania's lovely creations, orders came rolling in, and the business grew from there.

Julian & Co. offers jewelry that you can have forever as a keepsake.  It is durable and heirloom quality, and most pieces have a high shine mirror finish and are thick enough to be personalized on both sides.

You can purchase these to commemorate the birth of your own child or grandchild, and they also make lovely gifts for birthdays, showers, baptisms, graduations, and more!

Stopain Cold Review and Giveaway

If you've ever suffered from back pain, leg pain, should pain etc. then you know how important it is to have a good topical analgesic pain reliever.  Whether you suffer from arthritis or just the occasional aches and pains due to work, exercise, and everyday activities, these pain relievers can be an absolute life saver!

Today I'm sharing one of these products with you. It is called Stopain. Stopain is available in four formulations: Stopain Spray, Stopain Extra Strength Spray, Stopain Extra Strength Roll-On and the new Stopain Gel.

The spray and roll-on formulations feature a convenient hands-free application. Stopain Spray, Stopain Extra Strength Spray and Stopain Roll-on are top-sellers in the topical analgesic category. All Stopain products provide fast, temporary relief of minor pains and stiffness of arthritis, muscle aches and back pain…so you can stop pain and get moving again.

In addition, for every Stopain product sold in 2011, a portion of the proceeds is donated to the Arthritis Foundation  (with a minimum contribution of $25,000).

My husband and I tried the Roll-on product and were very satisfied with it. I used it on my lower back and legs, and my husband has used it pretty much all over! And we found that it was very effective in relieving our pain.

Apart from the overall effectiveness, we also loved the ease of application offered by the roll-on product.

In the past we've used gels which have to be squeezed out into your hand and then applied to the affected area. I don't know about you, but I hate getting the stuff on my hands because it seems to magically end up on my clothes, in my mouth or eyes, or on everything else.

And unlike other "hands-free" products that we've used, this roll-on product goes on very quickly and easily.  That is, when you apply it, you don't have to press down on the skin, which is great! I'd definitely recommend this product to anyone who suffers from aches and pains.

Connect! Follow Stopain on Facebook and Twitter.

Win it!  One Simply Sweet Home reader will win the Stopain Product of their choice.

Mandatory Entry: To enter, please follow the directions on the Rafflecopter form.

Looking for a New Doctor at Vitals.com

My husband has been dissatisfied with his current doctor for quite some time and is planning to switch to a new doctor very soon.  As you know swapping to new doctor can be a difficult process, but I was recently introduced to a site called Vitals.com, which can help make your search for a new doctor much easier.

Vitals.com is a great source for comprehensive medical information on over 720,000 doctors nationwide. The site offers consumers free information on doctors’ practices and specialties, consumer reviews, recommendations from other doctors as well as free physician profiles.

When you want to find a doctor, simply visit the site and type in the name of the doctor you are interested in learning about.  Not only will you learn about their background as a doctor, including where they were educated and what hospitals they are affiliated with, but you'll find actual patient reviews as well as ratings on the following: Ease of Appointment, Accurate Diagnosis, Bedside Manner, Spends Time with Me, Follow Up, Promptness, and Courteous Staff. These factors are all big concerns for us in searching for a new doctor, as we've had an issue in each of these departments with current and past doctors we've seen.

I think that this site could be a real asset for people who are unhappy with their current healthcare provider, and I love the opportunity that the site gives us as consumers, not only to be more informed about the doctors we choose, but also to voice our own opinions about the doctors that we know.

Check out them today to find a doctor in your area or rate your own.

Shabby Apple Dress Review

A few months ago I was super excited to host a giveaway for a beautiful dress from Shabby Apple, and I was thrilled once again a couple of weeks ago when Heather from Shabby Apple contacted me about writing a review! Yay!

And guess what?  The lovely people at Shabby Apple are offering you a special coupon code for 10% off!  The code is simplysweethome10off and is good for the next 30 days.

For those of you who aren't familiar with Shabby Apple, they offer beautiful women's dresses that are vintage-inspired.  Whether you're looking for something to wear to the office, church, or out on the town, you're sure to find something to fit your style. And for all the mom's out there, Shabby Apple also has little girl's dresses and maternity dresses.

I was given several dresses to choose from, and the one I was chose was the Azure Coast.

Here's the official description from Shabby Apple: A true gem of a multi-tasker, the Azure Coast dress, with it's playful puff sleeves and no-nonsense shirt collar, is perfect for the office or a weekend getaway at the shore.  This ocean-colored beauty sports faux-wrap styling—the skirt closes all the way—giving you the look of your favorite wrap dress without the anxiety of worrying whether or not you're unintentionally showing too much leg.

I absolutely love this dress, from the puff sleeves and collar to the wrapped style.  And I really like this shade of blue---almost navy, but not quite.  And I also love it's conservative and understated, yet still very cute and flattering.

What I love best about the overall style of the dress, is that it makes it perfect to wear to so many places and occasions.  It's dressy enough to wear to church, a party, or even a wedding.  But it's also a perfect dress for casual wear and would be appropriate for the office or a business meeting.

Did you like my photo shoot with the dress?  I hope so!  Now here's some of the other dresses that I'd love to have from Shabby Apple!

Want to stay updated on the latest promotions at Shabby Apple and get exclusive discounts? It's easy! Just "like them" on Facebook!

Please check out all of Shabby Apple's lovely lines, and don't forget to use the coupon code simplysweethome10off to get 10% off!

Country Style, Shabby Chic 4th of July Wreath

My mom gave me this wreath. Isn't it cute?  I have this on my door right now for 4th of July, but I really love decor like this year round because I adore the country style!

To make this wreath, you start with a vine wreath.  Next a string of garland featuring small metal stars was added.  Also strung on this garland are some small bells, which are painted red or blue.  I've seen similar garlands sold at decor retailers (perhaps Pottery Barn or Current), so I'm sure you could find something similar with a simple internet search.  Or you could go the less expensive route and buy some wire/foil type garland from Wal-mart or the dollar store.

Next wooden hearts and stars were painted and added to the wreath using hot glue.  The ribbon at the bottom can be tied and then added also using hot glue, or you can loop the ribbon through the vine and then tie it in lieu of glue.

Finally the star and welcome sign are suspended down the middle using a simple wire wrapping technique.  And another wire is wrapped around the top for easy hanging.

I'm linking up at these parties.
